Discount codes
A discount code is a coupon a customer types at checkout.
- Go to Promotions → Discounts → Add.
- Choose Code (e.g.
SUMMER25). - Choose type: percentage, fixed amount, or free shipping.
- Set rules: minimum cart value, allowed products/categories, usage limit per customer, total usage limit, expiry date.
- Click Save. Test by entering the code at checkout.
Automatic promotions
Auto-promos apply without a code. Set them up the same way but check Apply automatically. Examples:
- 10% off all orders during a flash sale weekend.
- Free shipping above 200 RON in Romania.
- Buy 2 get 1 free on a category.
Gift cards
Enable in Settings → Gift cards. Then sell gift cards as products (the system creates unique codes) and customers redeem them at checkout like discount codes.
Tiered B2B pricing
For wholesale customers:
- Tag the customer in Customers → [name] → Tags (e.g.
b2b-tier-1). - Go to Promotions → Price lists → Add.
- Filter by customer tag, set discounted prices per product or category.
- The customer sees their special prices when logged in.
Best practices
- Always test a discount with a real test order before sharing the code publicly.
- Set a usage cap to prevent runaway use if a code leaks.
- For flash sales, schedule a start and end date so the promo turns off automatically.
- Communicate auto-promos clearly in the cart drawer so customers know they're saving.
